About the FIC

A new model for service

NFSTC created this new corporation to provide swift response and a variety of services, some of which lie outside NFSTC’s core mission. The FIC provides our clients with access to broad experience and expertise, while streamlining contracting and delivery services.  The FIC has two minority partners:

Training Team Solutions is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business, a specialty training organization incorporated in 1996.  Training Team Solutions personnel have a proven track record in project delivery, large and small, for customers ranging from local businesses to national organizations such as the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and the Joint IED Defeat Organization.  Training Team Solutions has a strong background in serving the Explosive Ordnance Disposal community and offers specialized training not readily available elsewhere, including:

  • Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Awareness
  • IED Search and Damage Mitigation Procedures
  • Homemade Explosives Awareness
  • Post-Blast Investigation
  • IED Forensics Exploitation

Forensic Knowledge Partnership Incorporated (FKP Inc.) is a professional services company incorporated in the State of Delaware and authorized to conduct business in the State of Florida. FKP Inc. is dedicated to supporting the forensic science community by bringing together experts from around the world and applying their collective knowledge and experience to deliver what is required to solve problems that exist at Federal, State and local agencies today.

FKP emphasizes the establishment of lean processes that minimize waste and maximize efficiency and speed without compromising quality or staff satisfaction. The Lean Laboratory (“Productive Laboratory” and “Productive Leader”) uses less effort, less resource and less time to process increased volumes of work.

The FIC offers a broad range of commercial service products to the forensic science industry.  The Center aligns well with the Enterprise Florida Strategic Plan (registration required to download), as well as areas of homeland security, defense and biometrics.

In forensic science, it is rare to find a professional organization that serves more than one specialty or discipline, although they often support and are aware of each other, and referrals are common.  Professionals and agencies in the forensic, justice and military communities rely on the FIC for critical support and expertise for their short- and long-term projects.
